The Web Audio API
This app simulates a trip wire alarm siren.
Set the alarm parameters, then switch the alarm on. The alarm will be randomly tripped (sooner or later!)
Once the alarm is tripped you can reset it with the RESET ALARM button.
Plug in your headphones to hear the siren but beware of loud noise!
Status
This app simulates a trip wire alarm. When you switch on the alarm it starts a random number generator, which when a certain number is generated will trigger the alarm and sound the siren. Play around with the siren parameters which will surprise you with their effects!
- The "siren spread" will give the difference in Hz between the upper and lower siren frequencies, centered on the mean frequency. For example, a spread of zero yields a pure tone at the mean frequency.
- The siren "speed" defines how fast the siren will oscillate. Thus the value 1 will give an oscillation of 1Hz.
- The alarm trigger must be between 1 and 10. The higher the number the quicker the alarm will go off.
Choose what sort of alarm you want. The "shape" of the siren is largely dictated by the modifier wave type. Try a square audio wave with a triangle modifier.
